Since
1989, the dream of opening a transitional home for abused women and
their children was in the heart of Executive Director Patricia Quinn.
In 1999, the first Board of My Father's House of Erie started putting
the
plans together. In 2004 the Erie Redevelopment Authority donated
us a building. With rehab monies and the help of many volunteers,
My Father's House was finished in 2006. On this page, you'll see
small pictures of a few of the beautiful rooms at My Father's House.
The
home consist of three units. The first
floor
has a
large
kitchen, dining room, living room, four bedrooms, baths and an
assessment room.
There are two apartments. Each has two bedrooms, a dining
room, living room, kitchen and bath.
When
you have walked in the shoes of an abused woman, you are familiar with
the feelings of abandonment, shame, and hopelessness, so each
day you wonder if an open door of opportunity will be open to you.
My Father's House
of Erie is that door of opportunity to restore your self worth, through
the years of verbal and physical abuse. You will redeem some time
that was lost
because of poor decision making. Reclaim
I'm a woman of dignity and
purpose for myself and family.
Unique to My Father's House of Erie, there is so much to
offer the women and children to help build families. When you
want a change in your life for the better, and have the opportunity
to walk through the
doors of MFH and successfully complete your mission you will be on
the way to living successfully.
